"The genius of Donn Arden is responsible for the super extravaganza night club show in Las Vegas.

Donn has over 300 people working for him in his three current productions - The Lido in Paris, The Lido at the Stardust, and opening Thursday, September 28th, Pzazz! '68, at the Desert Inn.

It was Arden who staged and directed the first Lido show at the Stardust in 1958. Taming with producer Frank Sennes, Donn staged what has since been terms "the greatest night club show in the world." Today, ARden is preparing the 8th edition of Le Lido de Paris, opening at the Stardust next May.

Arden, who has been staging show at the Desert Inn since it opened in 1950, directed and planned the two versions of Hello America at the Desert. This was the first time the Inn utilized all its production facilities in a lavish revue.

Exciting shows, breathtaking numbers, gorgeous girls, are not new to Arden. Ever since he took his first dancing lessons in his native St. Louis, Donn has been staging shows. When Texas Guinan saw him dance, listened to his ideas, she gave him his first real choreography in one of her shows.

Working with such veteran performers as Sophie Tucker and Helen Morgan, Donn acquired more know-how, more skill in his profession.

Following World War II, Arden was invited to Paris to stage the reknown Lido there. In between, he was staging brilliant shows at the Latin Quarter in New York and at Ciro's and the Moulin Rouge in Hollywood.

Not content to JUST stage-direct a show, Arden is qualified to oversee every department. He works with the designers on the costumes, with the set people on the most effective backgrounds, with the girls on their make-up and hair styles. Actually, there is not one area to escape Arden's watchful and very professional eyes.

Las Vegas has become synonymous with the best in entertainment, the best in stage production.

And Arden is now synonymous with the stage spectacular. The Lido Show at the Stardust is one of the most successful shows ever to play Las Vegas for an extended run.

How does he manage to keep topping himself? Only because of his background and talent can he continue to outdo himself each time one of his shows hits the boards.
